The nationally-ranked No. 12 St. Lawrence University women's cross country team claimed the program's 10th straight conference championship on Saturday in Poughkeepsie, NY, winning the 2011 Liberty League title behind senior Jenna Hulton's record-setting performance.

The Saints closed with 23 points thanks to five top-7 finishes, well ahead of second place Vassar College with 61 points. Hulton, meanwhile, became the ninth straight individual champion from St. Lawrence with a Liberty League record time of 22:04, 35 seconds ahead of the runner-up.

"I thought we ran exceptionally well today, top-to-bottom," said St. Lawrence head coach Mike Howard. "Jenna had a great race that set the tone for the rest of our team. I think our success in the state and league meets sets us up nicely for the upcoming regional meet."

Hulton's victory was the first conference title in her collegiate career, and her record-setting performance topped Wendy Pavlus '11 by 24 seconds.

First-year student Megan Hulton was fourth overall in 22:53, earning All-Conference honors as the first rookie to cross the finish line. Rounding out the scoring en route to the team title for the Saints were junior Jackie Lemme, sophomore Amy Cymerman and senior McKayla Nuffer, all of whom earned First Team All-Conference.

First-year student Anne Martino's ninth place finish landed her Second Team All-Conference as well.

Also representing St. Lawrence at the 2011 Liberty League Championship race were Caroline Raue (16th), Erikka Nuffer (20th), Toria Koutras (21st), Katie Mannix (22nd), Melanie Solandt (26th), Ariel Beccia (28th), Abbie Macbeth (29th), Deidra Beller (30th) and Kelsey Leder (54th).

The Saints will have next weekend off before hosting the 2011 NCAA Atlantic Regional race on the Ronald C. Hoffmann Cross Country Course. The races are scheduled to begin at 11:00am and 12:00pm, respectively, on Saturday, November 12th with bids to the NCAA Championship on the line.
