The nationally-ranked No. 19 St. Lawrence University women's cross country team cruised to victory on Saturday at the 2011 Saratoga Invitational hosted by Rensselaer. The Scarlet and Brown had six top-10 finishers, including senior Jenna Hulton, who claimed the individual title, and junior Jackie Lemme, who recorded a collegiate-best second place finish.

St. Lawrence has won the Saratoga Invitational each of the last three times it has competed at the event. The Saints finished with a total score of 19 points on Saturday, with Vassar finishing in second place with 49.

"Our women had an impressive team effort today," said St. Lawrence head coach Mike Howard. "We were able to execute our race plan to perfection and make the most of a great course and excellent conditions."

Hulton remained unbeaten on the season with her second straight win, as the East Aurora, NY native won in 17:52. Lemme followed in 18:08, while rookie Megan Hulton impressed with a third place individual finish in 18:17.

Sophomore Amy Cymerman also had a career-best showing on Saturday, landing in fifth place in 18:21. Senior co-captain McKayla Nuffer rounded out the team's scoring in eighth position, while junior Caroline Raue earned her new collegiate-best finish in 10th place overall.

St. Lawrence added four more top-25 finishes to its credit, as Toria Koutras (16th), Ariel Beccia (22nd), Abby Macbeth (23rd) and Katie Mannix (25th) all had solid races.

Also running for the Scarlet and Brown on Saturday were Deidre Beller (28th), Anne Martino (31st), Elizabeth Edwards (39th) and Kelsey Leder (49th).

The Saints will compete in the 2011 Paul Short Invitational in two weeks on Friday, September 30 in Bethlehem, PA. The team will then host two consecutive events, including the Hoffmann Invitational/Pre-Regional on October 8 and the 2011 NYSCTC Championships on October 22.
