Junior Lucy Hochschartner and first-year Brian Beyerbach each posted an EISA top-30 finish to lead the St. Lawrence University Nordic Ski team on day one of the University of New Hampshire Carnival at the Jackson XC Touring Center in Jackson, New Hampshire on Friday afternoon.

Hochschartner skied the women's 15-kilometer classic in 50 minutes and 9.5 seconds to earn 26th place and 22 points for the Scarlet and Brown.

Jackie Garso posted the second-best result for the women's squad, finishing in 34th place with a final time of 51:04.2 to earn 17 points.

Beyerbach earned his second EISA top-30 finish of the season and led the men's squad in 27th with a time of 57:18.7, earning 21 points.

Matthew Young and Nathaniel Perkins, finished 64th and 67th, respectively and combined to earn 20 points for the Saints.

At the end of day one, the women's squad earned 50 points, while the men finished with 41. Combined with the day one scores from the Alpine team, the Saints wrapped up the first day of competition in ninth place.
