Senior Kailee Heidersbach has a goal and an assist and sophomore Brooke Webster tallied her first goal of the season in the St. Lawrence women's hockey team's 2-0 shutout win over RPI on Friday night. The Saints improved to 5-6-1 overall and 2-1-0 in ECAC Hockey, while the Engineers fall to 3-5-1 and 1-1-1 against league opponents.

"Solid road win versus RPI," Head Coach Chris Wells said. "They are always one of the hardest working teams in the league and tonight was the same. We capitalized on a pretty play and on one of our power plays to make the difference stand."

The teams were scoreless until Heidersbach put the Saints in front midway through the second period.

With the Saints digging on opposite half wall, Heidersbach came into the zone hard fresh off the bench and kept the puck in when the Engineers threw it towards the blue line to clear. She dished to Kennedy Marchment at the side of the net and then crashed to the far post for a one-time finish and her second goal of the season at 11:49.

With the Saints on the power play just over four minutes into the final frame, Webster put a shot on goal from the slot that deflected off of an RPI defender at the far post and behind Lovisa Selander for her first of the year. Amanda Boulier and Heidersbach assisted on the play.

"We had some great back checks that allowed our defense to stay up and keep them from striking in the rush took much," Wells added. "When they did, Sonjia Shelly was there to keep it out."

Shelly finished with 16 saves for St. Lawrence, earning her fourth win of the season and first career shutout. Selander made 31 stops for the Engineers, as St. Lawrence held a 33-16 shot advantage in the contest.

The Saints will look to sweep their Capital District road trip against the Union Dutchwomen at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in Schenectady.
