Senior captain Conor Healey assisted on 50 percent of the goals in the first half and scored two others to become the all-time leading point scorer as the sixth-ranked St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team defeated Skidmore 15-7 in a Liberty League contest Saturday afternoon in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Healey netted his 27th and 28th goals of the season and assisted on six others to take over as the all-time point scorer in St. Lawrence men's lacrosse history surpassing alumni Fran Shields '79 and previous leader Sam Hovey '87. Healey, who broke the thirty-year old record, now holds the lead with 275 career points. Additionally, with his season-high six assists, he tied the all-time assist leader Shields with 136 career assists.

"Conor made an immediate impact on our program as a freshman and has consistently been a dynamic threat offensively," said head coach Mike Mahoney "The best thing about his accomplishment is that he earned the title by playing a very unselfish game. He broke a title that was held by Hovey for 30 years and he deserves it for the way that he has played over the last four years."

Jordan Dow and Cal Hynson each recorded a hat trick, while Hynson also tallied one assist for the Saints. Andrew Jarrett added two goals and an assist and Jamie Kuppel scored one goal and added two assists. Jon Fairbanks, Jamie DeNicola and Alec Dietsch each had a goal and an assist against the Thoroughbreds.

Faceoff specialist Ryan Brigham picked up eight ground balls for the Saints, while Dietsch, Caleb Kane and Sam Sweeney all picked up five.

Skidmore got an early jump on the Saints sprinting out to a 2-0 lead less than four minutes into the first quarter. The Saints' offense quickly recovered tying the game 2-2 and taking their first lead of the game with Fairbanks 17th goal of the season. Will Lukas tied the game for the second and final time with just under five minutes to play in the first. St. Lawrence added another eight goals to carry them into the start of the third period. The Thoroughbreds added four goals sporadically down the stretch but were unable to match the high-scoring Saints.

Seven different members of the Skidmore squad scored a goal for the Thoroughbreds. Jack Metzler and Will Lukas assisted on two others each. Chris Baughan made 13 saves for Skidmore, while Alex Terry recorded eight saves for St. Lawrence.

"It was a nice way to end the 2017 regular season, the guys showed showed up to play every game across the board and we understand that each team is 0-0 again and each game is a new opportunity," said Mahoney. "We're very much looking forward to that next opportunity, starting with the Liberty League tournament on Friday."

St. Lawrence ended their regular season 14-1 overall and 6-1 in conference play and secured a spot in the Liberty League semifinals next weekend. Skidmore fell to 6-9 and 2-5.

The second-seeded Saints will host Vassar Friday at 4:00 p.m. in the conference semifinals. Clarkson will travel to RIT for the second semifinal matchup.
