Hathaway and Fenoff lead Knights men's cross country at Hoffmann Invitational

Canton, NY - Sophomore Victoria Hathaway (Stillwater, NY) and freshman Taylor Fenoff (Saratoga Springs, NY) led the way for the Clarkson University Cross Country team as the Golden Knights finished in the middle of the pack at the Hoffmann Invitational hosted by St. Lawrence University on Saturday.

The Golden Knights' women came in fourth out of eight teams with 111 points, trailing St. Lawrence (25), the University of Ottawa (33) and Plattsburgh State (93), while edging out Carleton (140), Paul Smith's (187), SUNY Canton (206) and SUNY Potsdam (210). The men were fifth out of eight teams with 128 points, behind St. Lawrence (20), the Ottawa Lions (60), the University of Ottawa (77), Plattsburgh State (109), but ahead of Paul Smith's (167), SUNY Canton (212) and SUNY Potsdam (220).

Hathaway finished in the top spot for Clarkson, coming in 19th out of 90 runners in the 6,000-meter race with a time of 24 minutes, 29.98 seconds, an average of a 6:34 mile. Senior Sarah Governale (Wading River, NY) took 25th in 25:04.63 and freshman Tara Seigle (Poland, NY) came in 32nd with a time of 25:38.39. Junior Lindsey McCormick (Gouverneur, NY) placed 35th in 25:55.80 and classmate Chelsea Farinacci (Huntington, NY) was 43rd with a time of 26:35.01. Allie Day (North Yarmouth, ME) and Meaghan McKenna (Hamburg, NY) placed 53rd and 54th, respectively.

On the men's side, freshmen led the way for Clarkson as Taylor Fenoff came in 30th out of 102 runners in the 8,000-meter event, crossing the finish line in 28:17.93, an average of 5:41.6 per mile. First-year collegian Kris Lizins (Elverson, PA) was one spot behind Fenoff in 31st with a time of 28:22.04 and classmate AJ Beers (Central Square, NY) was 35th in 28:33.32. Sophomore Lukas Patrizio (Port Chester, NY) followed Beers in 36th in 28:33.87 and senior Ryan Ash (Glens Falls, NY) rounded out the scoring in 39th place with a time of 28:45.74. Austin Holbrook (Corning, NY) also took 41st and Jacob Erdman (Gouverneur, NY) placed 42nd.
