St. Lawrence University junior captain Leah Hart led the Saints Nordic ski teams in the 10K Classic races on Friday at the 2011 Colby Carnival at the Titcomb Ski Area. Hart finished in 11th place in the women's race, leading St. Lawrence to eighth place in the team standings.

Hart, who had back-to-back career finishes at the St. Lawrence Carnival last weekend, logged her third straight top-15 finish on Friday. The Meredith, NH native raced the women's 10K Classic in 41:59.7 to earn 30.0 points for her team. Classmate Caroline Carpenter and senior Sophie Allen rounded out the squad's scoring with 56.0 points behind 36th and 55th place finishes, respectively.

Sophomore Kelsey Nichols was the next Saint finisher in 60th place, followed by rookie Amanda Moreland in 69th place. First-year student Bridget Shea-Gander (78th), senior Libby Hayden (82nd) and rookie Amy Cymerman (84th) rounded out the Saints' line-up.

On the men's side, junior Adam Terko led the Scarlet and Brown for the third consecutive race, finishing in 32nd in the 10K Classic. The Shelburne, VT native clocked in at 34:39.1 to earn 18.0 points as the Saints were ninth overall with 42.0 points.

Graduate student Zach Wetherell, who rejoined the team just this week to begin his final year of competition, added to the scoring in 37th place. Sophomore Connor Hunt rounded out the points in 48th position.

Also representing the Saints in the men's 10K Classic were rookie Eric Lustgarten (52nd), senior captain Steven Vargo (53rd) and classmate Kyle Marvinney (65th), junior Ben Ogden (68th), first-year student Bill Prescott (71st) and sophomore Hollis Keith (76th).

The University of Vermont won the women's race with 129.0 points, led by individual champion Lucy Garrec with a winning time of 40:08.1. Dartmouth College claimed the men's event with 135.0 points, with Nils Koons earning the individual crown for the Big Green with a time of 31:27.6.

Both the St. Lawrence men's and women's Nordic teams will be in action again tomorrow on day two of the Colby Carnival, as the squads compete in the 3x6 6K Freestyle Relays.
