Keuka Park, NY – Senior Katlyn Hart (Harrisville, NY) tallied her team-leading fourth score of the year but it would not be enough as the SUNY Canton women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 road contest Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Storm to 2-1, while the Kangaroos fall to 3-3.

The hosts got on the board first in the eighth minute when Ashley Swarts fed Alexis Pomerville on the right side of the field. Pomerville took the ball toward net on a breakaway and blasted a shot from eight yards out that beat SUNY Canton keeper Brittany Rotach (Brasher Falls, NY) for the early lead. Keuka added a second goal eight minutes later when Jessica Bandrowski netted her first score of the year. Despite holding a 4-3 shots on goal edge in the opening half the Roos trailed 2-0 at intermission.

SUNY Canton got within one 15 minutes out of halftime when Karyss Terrance (Hogansburg, NY) played Hart in on a breakaway. Hart took the ball toward the Storm keeper and beat her to the far post to get within 2-1. Keuka added an insurance goal just two minutes later to regain the two goal lead at 3-1 when Abbey David tallied her second score of the season.

The Roos held advantages in shots on goal (8-5) and corner kicks (4-2) but Swarts made the difference stopping seven shots in net for the Storm. Rotach made two saves for SUNY Canton.

The women's soccer team has 11 days off before traveling to take on SUNY Postdam on Wednesday, Sept. 25th beginning at 7:00 p.m.
