Bo Hanson scored his second goal in as many games, but the St. Lawrence men's hockey team fell to Brown, 3-1, at Meehan Auditorium in Providence, Rhode Island on Friday night.

Hanson's goal was a power-play tally, as the Saints finished 1-for-5 with the man advantage, while Brown went 0-for-6.

Brown was assessed a pair of major penalties in the game after officials reviewed hits involving head contact, but St. Lawrence was not able to score on either of the resulting power plays in those circumstances.

The Bears scored a goal in each period, starting with Tommy Marchin's tally at 18:33 of the first period with a shot from the edge of the crease off a rebound that beat St. Lawrence starter Arthur Brey under the pads inside the far post.

Chris Berger extended the lead to 2-0 Brown with the eventual game-winning tally, which also came off a loose puck in front of the net. A shot from Zach Giuttari hit bodies in front and ricocheted to the back post for a one-time finish for Berger at 16:00 of the second.

Less than two minutes after Trey Dodd extended the Brown lead to 3-0, Hanson got the Saints on the board with his second of the season and second in as many games, as he put a shot from the left point behind Brown netminder Gavin Nieto. First-years David Jankowski and Carson Dimoff picked up assists on the play.

The team's combined to hit half-a-dozen posts in the game, as both Jake Stevens and Cade Gleekel rang iron for St. Lawrence on scoring chances in the first and second periods, respectively.

Brown outshot St. Lawrence 34-23 in the game, as the Saints' Arthur Brey finished with 31 saves and fellow Yorba Linda, California native and Bears' netminder Gavin Nieto stopped 22.

Playing with an already-depleted lineup due to injuries, the Saints were also without sophomore captain and defensemen Dylan Woolf on Friday night due to illness.

With the loss, the Saints drop to 3-17-1 overall and 1-7-1 in ECAC Hockey contests. Brown improves to 6-8-3 and 3-4-3 in conference games.

The Saints travel to New Haven, Connecticut to play the nationally-ranked Yale Bulldogs on Saturday, January 19 at 7 p.m.
