Amanda Hamilton's first career goal and Kaleigh White's Liberty League-leading 12th goal of the season helped the St. Lawrence women's soccer team erase an early 1-0 deficit, as the Saints went on to beat Skidmore 2-1 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon.

"Although we started a bit flat, the team really built momentum throughout the game," Head Coach Franco Bari. "I am so proud of how hard we worked to fight back and get a very important result."

With the win, the Saints move into a tie for third place in the Liberty League standings with the Thoroughbreds, as both teams have 10 points heading into the final week of the season. The Saints improved to 10-3-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the conference, while Skidmore drops to 5-8-1 overall but has an identical record against Liberty League opponents.

Two minutes and 44 seconds after Emily Saliterman gave Skidmore a 1-0 lead, Hamilton scored the first goal of her career when she took a pass from Rachel Muskin across the goal mouth and finished into the wide open net to even the score a 1-1 heading into the break.

In the 74th minute, Katie Stames carried deep into the attacking third before crossing to White at the top of the box. The Saints leading scorer settled the ball and then hit a hard shot that curled inside the left post behind goalkeeper Deidre Walsh for the game winner.

St. Lawrence outshot Skidmore 14-13 and had a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. Walsh finished with eight saves, while senior goalkeeper Kelsey West stopped four shots for her 10th win of the season for St. Lawrence.

The Saints will close out the nonconference portion of their schedule with a match against Potsdam on Tuesday, Oct. 27 before playing host to Clarkson on Oct. 31 to finish out the regular season.
