Cazenovia, NY – Caitlin Grimshaw (Adams, NY) scored her second goal of the season to give the SUNY Canton women's soccer team an early lead on the road, but Cazenovia scored the equalizer in a 1-1 double overtime tie on Wednesday.
Grimshaw beat the keeper for the second time in three games at the 9:00 minute mark. However, the host Wildcats (1-0-1) were able to find the equalizer from Emily Graham with just less than three minutes before halftime. Despite a 6-3 shots advantage for the Roos the game was tied 1-1 at intermission.
Cazenovia held an 8-2 shots edge in the second half, while the Roos (2-0-1) controlled shots 6-3 in the extra periods. SUNY Canton had a golden chance to win the contest in the second overtime after drawing a penalty kick but were unable to convert as they settled for the tie.
Kelsi Gilbert (Colton, NY) turned aside five shots in goal, while Kara Locey made nine saves for Cazenovia.
