Behind a pair of goals by senior Ryan Grant and a goal each by first-year students Tapshak Augustine, Brendan McNamee and Charlton Kelly, the Saints (4-0-0) rolled to 5-0 win over St. John Fisher (0-5-0) on Sandy MacAllaster Field on Friday afternoon.

The shutout is the fourth straight for senior goalkeeper Ryan Roethel and the Saints, as the team has yet to concede goal this season. Roethel finished with three saves in the match, all of which came in the second half.

Grant put the Saints on the board with the game-winning tally in the 21st minute off a feed from Ryan Roche for his fourth in as many games. Roche carried the ball to the top of the box before putting the ball through the defense to Grant on the left side. The Mississauga, Ont. native finished with a hard shot along the ground that beat Cardinals goalkeeper Joseph Catalfamo inside the far post.

Just after halftime, it was Grant again in the 51st minute who extended the St. Lawrence lead to 2-0 when he buried the rebound from a shot by Iyayi Imade after a corner kick.

Imade took a hard shot from the six that Catalfamo was able to get his body in front of, but Grant was waiting on the doorstep for his fifth of the season.

The trio of first years all scored within 10 minutes in the second half to give St. Lawrence its eventual five-goal margin.

Augustine made it 3-0 when he split the defense on a perfectly place through ball from Grant and finished from just inside the 18 along the ground in the 70th minute.

McNamee tallied his first collegiate goal with a shot from the top of the box following a Saints' corner kick. The Cardinals left the Newton, N.J. native unmarked on the far side for an easy finish into the middle of the net.

Kelly rounded out the St. Lawrence scoring with his first collegiate goal as well, as he put a shot along the ground and behind Catalfamo, with Luis Jimenez assisting, for the

Saints fifth and final goal of the afternoon.

Catalfamo finished with 10 saves for St. John Fisher, as the Saints held a 24-5 edge in total shots and 15-3 advantage in shots on goal. They also earned 12 corners, while the Cardinals did not have a corner kick opportunity.

The Saints will return to MacAllaster Field on Saturday afternoon for a 2 p.m. match against SUNY Geneseo.
