Oneonta, NY - Sophomore Sarah Governale (Wading River, NY) placed sixth among 97 runners to pace the Clarkson University Women's Cross Country team's effort at the Airfield Invitational on Saturday, which was held at Fortin Park and hosted by SUNY Oneonta.
Governale ran the 6,000-meter event in 23 minutes, 43 seconds and was closely tailed by senior teammate Rachel Bachman (Queensbury, NY), who finished eighth just 11 seconds behind Governale. Junior Fiona Recchia (Latham, NY) came in 37th overall in 25:36 and freshman Chelsea Farinacci (Huntington, NY) took 39th in 25:43. Closing out Clarkson's top five scorers was junior Catherine Zarnofsky (Glenville, NY), who came in 43rd in 25:53.
The men's results were not immediately available.
