Potsdam, NY – On Senior Day for the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team, it was a junior that made the difference, as Victoria Goudreau scored the game-winning goal in the final minutes to lift the Golden Knights to a 1-0 Liberty League win over Bard College on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights improved to 7-4-3 overall and 3-2-1 in the Liberty League, while the Raptors dropped to 7-6 overall and 1-5 in conference games. Clarkson will close out the regular season with three games on the road, taking on Union College, St. Lawrence and Rensselaer in the next two weeks.

The game was quiet overall, with only 10 shots combined between the two teams. Clarkson made the most of its opportunities, by putting five of its six attempts on the Bard frame. It was the final attempt that put the Knights on top. Junior Victoria Goudreau collected the ball outside the penalty area on the right side of the field near the Clarkson bench, and ripped a left-footed attempt over the Bard defense into the back of the Raptors goal at the 83:36 mark to give the Knights a 1-0 lead.

Clarkson finished with a 6-4 edge in shots and a 5-1 advantage in corner kick chances. Elyse Green picked up her sixth shutout of the season by making one save, while Bard's Tessa Greenhalgh made four saves in the Raptors' net.
