After giving up a goal within two minutes, the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team scored four first half goals to cruise to a 5-2 victory over the SUNY Canton Kangaroos on Tuesday night on Hantz Turf Field.

Within two minutes, Clarkson found itself trailing when Alyshia Murray kicked a loose ball into the back of the Golden Knights' goal. Clarkson almost immediately answered when just 56 seconds later, Lauren Flynn (Andover, M.A.) collected a through ball from Nikki Carfi (Liverpool, N.Y.) and put it past the Canton keeper to even the score.

The Green and Gold dominated possession as the half went on and this would result in three more goals. Courtney Black (Gilbertsville, P.A.) would get the second goal when she headed in a corner kick from Carfi at the 34:53 mark. Less than five minutes later, Clarkson struck again when Anna Demasi (Colchester, V.T.) settled a ball down to Kanoe Eichholz (Stratham, N.H.) who hit a half-volley from 20 yards out and into the net. The final first half goal would come when Meggie Manzo (Beverly, M.A.) slipped a pass through to Tori Sailor (Londonderry, N.H.) who beat the keeper for the fourth Clarkson goal of the game.

The Kangaroos would come out after halftime and again score an early goal. Four minutes into the period, Karyss Terrance played a through ball to Kristina DiNardo who finished it past Clarkson senior keeper Kim Kenline (Akron, N.Y.). Before Canton could capitalize on the momentum however, Flynn scored her second goal of the game when she stole the ball from a Canton defender and tapped it into the net for the final score.

Clarkson will return to action when they travel to Skidmore for a 3:00 pm Liberty League game on Saturday.
