Senior David Kinney (Mexico, NY) and freshman John Coleman (Potsdam, NY) accounted for 20 hits over the weekend for the Clarkson University Baseball team and were rewarded on Monday with Liberty League Weekly honors.

Kinney was picked as the Liberty League Performer of the Week for the third time this year, the only player in the conference to have more than one selection. Over the course of four games, Kinney batted .588 (10-for-17), slugging four doubles with seven runs batted in. He also pitched his fifth complete game of the season, going the whole seven innings against RIT, allowing six hits and no earned runs while whiffing four batters.

For the season, Kinney is making a strong case to repeat as the conference player of the year, batting .485, which ranks in the top 10 in the country, with a .557 on-base percentage, and a .713 slugging percentage. He ranks first or second in the Liberty League in batting, OBP, slugging, hits, doubles, total bases and complete games. Kinney added to his career records at Clarkson, breaking the program marks for doubles (47) and hits (184).

John Coleman picked up his second honor of the season as Liberty League Rookie of the Week for the Golden Knights. Coleman went 10-for-18 (.556), scoring seven runs and swiping a pair of bases. This year, Coleman is hitting .390, which is eighth in the league and sixth among regulars. He also has contributed 25 runs and 19 RBIs with 39 hits, just six short of Clarkson's single-season freshman record. He also is playing a strong shortstop, having committed only six errors for a .963 fielding percentage and a league-best 105 assists.
