A two-time recipient of the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year award, Clarkson University Women’s Hockey standout Erica Howe’s outstanding play and has earned her an invitation to attend Canada’s National U-22 Goalie Camp.
A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Howe is one of just seven under-22/development netminders who will be coming from across Canada to attend the prestigious camp. The camp will take place on June 6-9 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta.
This is the second major Hockey Canada camp for Howe this year, as she was one of eight Golden Knights who participated in the Under-22 Development Team conditioning camp that took place in Toronto at the end of April.
Howe, who completed her junior year at Clarkson this past winter, was honored as the Golden Knights’ MVP for the second consecutive season. She backboned the Knights’ stingy defensive effort, playing the second most minutes in the country (2217:21) as the Green and Gold skated to their best campaign ever with a 28-10 overall record, including an 18-4 ECAC Hockey mark. Howe was selected a First-Team ECAC All-Star. She played more minutes than any other ECAC goaltender (1315:38) and posted the most wins in the conference (18). Howe ranked among the best netminders in Division I with a .931 save percentage and a 1.73 goals against average, and posted the second most wins in Division I with a 27-10 overall record, including six shutouts. Howe is Clarkson's all-time winningest goaltender with a 59-27-10 career record.
