Clarkson University Lacrosse standout Brendon Shearin has been selected to participate in the prestigious 2013 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North/South Senior Division III All-Star Game to be played on May 24.

The 72nd USILA/LaxWorld North-South Games will be played at the Edith Robb Dixon Field on the campus of Cabrini College in Radnor, PA, on Friday. The Division III game will be played at 3:00 p.m. followed by the Division I/II game at 5:30 p.m. These games will bring together 132 of the finest senior lacrosse players in the country. The North-South Game started in 1940 and has been played every year with the exception of 1944 and 1945.

A senior midfielder from Goffstown, NH, Shearin helped to pace the Golden Knights’ offense this spring as Clarkson’s second-leading goal scorer with 24 tallies through 16 games. Shearin’s efforts helped the Green and Gold post a 10-6 overall record and earn a berth in the Liberty League Tournament for the fourth time over the past five years.

Clarkson narrowly missed out on claiming the 2013 Liberty League Tournament Championship, falling to RIT 10-9 in overtime on the 3rd-ranked Tigers’ home field on May 5. Shearin led the Knights in their upset bid with a game-high five goals to cap off a solid career for the Green and Gold.

Shearin was one of seven Golden Knights to earn Liberty League All-Star honors this spring, gaining unanimous First-Team recognition.

Through 61 games at Clarkson, Shearin tallied 76 points, including 69 goals.
