Freshman Greg Jasek (Chittenango, NY) dominated on the mound all season long for the Clarkson University Baseball team, posting a 1.88 earned run average, and on Wednesday he and four other members of the Golden Knights squad were named to the Liberty League All-Star team, with Jasek becoming the second straight Clarkson player to earn Rookie of the Year honors.

Senior pitcher Bryan Chudy (Goshen, NY) was the lone Golden Knight chosen as a Liberty League First-Team All-Star, while Jasek, sophomore shortstop John Coleman (Potsdam, NY) and junior outfielder David Wixted (Ballston Lake, NY) were picked to the Liberty League Second-Team. Sophomore catcher Tim Beninati (Schoharie, NY) gained Liberty League Honorable Mention All-Star notice as well.

Jasek is the second straight Clarkson player to be named Liberty League Rookie of the Year, joining John Coleman (2012) and Jay Josef (2005) as Golden Knights picked as the top newcomer in the nine-year history of the Liberty League. Jasek ranked in the top five in the Liberty League in ERA (1.88) and opponents batting average (.207), while also ranking among the national leaders in fewest hits per nine innings (6.93) and fewest walks per nine innings (0.75). In his six starts, he completed four games and tossed a pair of seven-inning shutouts. Additionally, Jasek led the Golden Knights in runs batted in with 18 in just 76 at bats and hit .289 with six extra-base hits.

Chudy finished the season with a record of 4-3 overall with a 2.64 ERA in 58 innings. He also had five complete games, including a 1-0 shutout of Rensselaer, the only time that the Engineers were shut out in 2013. He also struck out 44 batters, ranking among the conference leaders in that category. Chudy finished off his collegiate career with 150 strikeouts (third-most in program history), 18 victories, 14 complete games, and three shutouts. The three-time conference all-star also became the program's all-time leader in innings pitched with 223.2 innings.

Coleman moved up one spot on the all-star squads after his Rookie of the Year campaign of 2012. Coleman led the team in all three slash stats with a .361 average, .423 on-base percentage, and a .444 slugging percentage. He also led the team in hits (48), extra-base hits (9), walks (13) and total bases (59) while fielding .956 at shortstop with just seven errors in 35 games. Wixted repeated as a Liberty League Second-Team All-Star, hitting .321 with a team-best 13 stolen bases. He also led the squad with 28 runs scored while ranking second in hits (45) and total bases (52). Beninati batted .280 with 13 RBIs in 82 at bats and was a defensive force behind the plate for the Knights. He committed four errors in 30 games and threw out 36 percent of would-be base stealers.
