Two goals from senior Ashley DeHond (Penfield, N.Y.) led the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team to a 2-0 win over Potsdam Sunday afternoon at Hantz Turf Field.
The Golden Knights move to 2-2-0 while Potsdam falls to 2-1-1.
DeHond scored her first goal only a few minutes into the game. First year Madison Kather (Amherst, N.Y.) played a ball across the box and Dehond's ensuing shot deflected off a defender and into the net. The goal was the first of DeHond's career.
Clarkson would double its lead in the 65th minute. Junior Megan Strijek (Schenectady, N.Y.) crossed the ball to the back post and DeHond slipped between two defenders to tap it in for her second goal of the day.
Clarkson will hit the road for their next games, traveling to Elmira College for a game on Friday at 4:00 pm and then to Nazareth College where they will play on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
