The St. Lawrence women's soccer team got goals from Lindsay Geier and Katelyn Daley to earn a 2-0 win over Union on Saturday afternoon, snapping a five-game win streak for the Dutchwomen. With the win, the Saints improved to 9-3-1 overall and 2-3-1 in Liberty League matches while Union drops to 7-4-3 overall and 3-3 in conference.

"The team came out with a lot of energy and desire today," Head Coach Franco Bari said. "Both goals were fantastic. This is always a challenging weekend, on the road, on the turf but the team was focused and determined. I'm very proud of their effort and performance."

Geier got the Saints on the board with the game winner in the 20th minute off a free kick taken by senior Emily DePoy to send the Saints into halftime with a 1-0 lead.

Early in the second half, Daley extended the lead to 2-0 with her first career goal of a feed from Katie Stames following a St. Lawrence corner kick opportunity in the 52nd minute.

The Saints finished with a 17-6 shot advantage and had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks on the day. Senior goalkeeper Kelsey West made four saves in the shutout, her fourth of the season, while Erica Matteo had 10 stops for the Dutchwomen.

The Saints return to action midweek with a nonconference match against Middlebury at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21 on North Country Field at St. Lawrence.
