The Saints' top line of Ryan Garvey, Keenan Suthers and Carson Gicewicz connected for the game-tying goal at 4:12 of the third period, with Garvey getting his second of the weekend, to help the St. Lawrence men's hockey team to a2-2 tie with Dartmouth on Saturday night in Appleton Arena.

First-year netminder Emil Zetterquist made 36 saves for St. Lawrence, including 11 in the third period and five in the overtime to help the Saints secure a point in the ECAC Hockey standings.

With the tie, the Saints are now 4-24-2 overall with a 2-14-2 record against ECAC Hockey teams, while Dartmouth is 9-12-4 and 8-7-3 against conference opponents.

First-year Ted McGeen opened the scoring for the Saints with this second of the season at 6:05 of the opening frame to put the home team in front 1-0.

Bo Hanson sent the Saints on a rush with a stretch pass to Kaden Pickering, who then hit McGeen cutting through the neutral zone. The Windsor, Ontario native carried over the blue line and cut to the middle before unloading a wrister that beat Dartmouth's Adrian Clark high on the glove side for the first goal of the game.

Not long after taking the lead, St. Lawrence had a five-minute power play after Dartmouth's John Ernsting was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct for boarding following a hit on Andrew McIntyre. The Saints struggled to get anything going offensively though, registering just two shots on goal.

At 15:14 of the first period, Cameron Roth pulled the Big Green even with a shot from just above the left circle that fooled Zetterquist and slid under his pads for a 1-1 game.

Near the midway point of the middle frame, Dartmouth took a 2-1 lead when Shane Sellar beat Zetterquist on a two-on-one for the Big Green for his fourth of the season at the 8:13 mark.

The Saints had two more power play opportunities in the second period after the Dartmouth goal, but were unable to convert. They finished 0-for-3 with the man advantage, while Dartmouth went 0-for-4.

In the third period, Gicewicz and Suthers combined for a give-and-go play in the neutral zone and moved into Dartmouth territory for a three-on-two with Garvey. Suthers put a backhand centering pass into traffic and Garvey kicked it forward to his stick before beating Clark on the short side to tie the game at 2-2.

With the assist on the tying goal, Suthers extended his scoring streak to three games, while Carson Gicewicz picked up his third helper of the weekend.

The Saints successfully killed off two penalties after tying the game, one to David Jankowski just 29 seconds later, and the other to Hanson in the final five minutes.

Dartmouth finished with a 38-25 advantage in shots on goal on Saturday, as Clark finished with 23 stops for the Big Green.

St. Lawrence will make its final regular season road trip next weekend, traveling to nationally-ranked Quinnipiac before heading to Princeton.
