The St. Lawrence duo of juniors Madeline Funk and Courtney Mullen led from the opening gun through the soggy finish line as St. Lawrence University's women's cross country "B" team topped runners from SUNY Canton and Clarkson in a twilight race on a damp 5,000 meter Ronald C. Hoffmann Cross Country Course Wednesday afternoon.

Saint runners swept the top five spots on their home course, led by Funk who won in 21:27.69 with Mullen second in 21:49.00. Sophomore Claire Pacione was third for the Saints in 22:00.34 with first years India Harvey (22:00.55) and Bridget Benz (22:33.91) completing the top five.

SUNY Canton junior Keara Byrne interrupted a string of Saint finishes with a sixth place performance in 22:54.27, but the next five runners wore SLU uniforms as Alexis Bruno was seventh, Ella Gurney eighth, Miabelle Salzano ninth, Rachel Waldrop tenth and Alexis Haley was 11th.
