(Canton, N.Y.)- Junior forward Corey Frizell (Orleans, Ontario) joined three of his teammates in the 100-point club Friday night when he reached the milestone in a 10-0 shutout of Binghamton University in Canton.

Frizell was one point shy of the century mark entering the contest and reached it when he assisted on the very first goal of the game. Frizell, along with senior forwards Rob Liggio (Canton, N.Y.) and Darren Camp (Canton, N.Y.) and junior forward John Payne (Port Moody, B.C.) have all reached the 100-point mark this season. Liggio and Camp did it in early October and Payne most recently on Nov. 5. Frizell and Payne were honored prior to the start of the second period Friday night.

Frizell wasn’t done after his first assist as he went on to score one goal and assist on two others as the Roos stayed unbeaten at 12-0-3 overall.

SUNY Canton held the Bearcats to just 11 shots on goal which sophomore goalie Michael Pittman (Amarillo, Texas) easily turned aside for his team-leading fifth win of the year and first shutout of the season.

Despite outshooting Binghamton 19-2 in the opening stanza, the Roos only held a slim 2-0 advantage after one period following the first career goal from freshman defenseman Greg Kmiotek (Binghamton, N.Y.) and another score from Frizell.

SUNY Canton turned it on in the second period scoring five goals on 13 shots to stretch their lead to 7-0. Thomas Freeman (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) started the run when he scored on nice rush down the right wing and flicked in a backhanded shot past Binghamton goalie Jared Frazer. Freshman forward Richard Brogden (Derwood, Md.) scored his first career goal in the second period and Camp, Dave Schneider (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Eric Richard (St-Hubert, Qubec) also scored for the Roos in the second stanza.

The Roos tacked on three more goals on 14 shots in the final period as Richard, Camp and Freeman all scored again to each finish with a two-goal night. Camp also had three assists in the game.

Frazer finished with 36 saves for the Bearcats.

The Roos are next in action Nov. 18-19 when they’ll host the 4th Annual Terry Martin / Alumni Classic. The Roos play John Carroll University on Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. in the opening round and Oswego State will face the University of Scranton at 5 p.m. The consolation game is on Nov. 19 at 12 p.m. and the championship game to follow at 3 p.m. Immediately following the championship game there will be an alumni game on the Roos home ice.
