DELHI – Four players scored in double figures in a balanced effort but the SUNY Canton women's basketball team dropped a 71-51 decision on the road at SUNY Delhi on Saturday.
Taylor Saltus led the Roos with 11 points, six rebounds four assists and three steals, while Allison Fink posted her third double-double in the last five games on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Tylar Barbato finished with 10 points and nine rebounds, while Sade Rogers added 10 in the scoring column.
SUNY Canton (4-15) jumped out to a 13-2 lead after the opening quarter, but the host Broncos (7-11) controlled play, 14-5, in the second stanza to take a 26-18 lead at intermission.
The Roos continued to battle in the second half but Delhi proved to be too much pulling away for the 20-point victory.
Samiaya Sailey led all players with 19 points, while Katie Herba chipped in 17 points for the Broncos. Samantha St. Denis stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.
The women's basketball team is back in action next Saturday when they host Alfred State at 2 p.m. in the Roos House.
