Potsdam, NY – Two reserves recorded career-highs for the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team as the Golden Knights picked up a 76-46 Liberty League win over Bard College on Friday night at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Golden Knights improved to 13-9 overall and 8-5 in the Liberty League, while Bard remained winless at 0-22 and 0-13. Clarkson will look to post a weekend sweep on Saturday when the Knights host Vassar College.

The two teams were tied for only nine seconds as Devin Sorell converted a pair of free throws early on and Clarkson never trailed. In fact, the Golden Knights rattled off 10 points in the first 2:44 of the quarter as Bard struggled to get much going on offense, turning the ball over on its first six possessions with just a single shot. Once the Raptors finally got on the scoreboard, they cut the margin to five (10-5). However, the Knights ended the quarter on a 15-2 run over the course of 5:35. With the reserves entered into the game, the scoring stalled slightly in the second quarter, as the Raptors produced 11 of the 19 points in the period.

Devin Sorell tallied nine points and had four steals in 12 minutes in the first half, while Ashley Hill contributed six points in 11 minutes off the bench for the Knights. For Bard, Alexis Akingbade had six points and five rebounds in the opening half.

Though Bard had hopes of a comeback at the start of the second half, the Golden Knights ratcheted up their defensive effort with several midcourt steals which were converted into open layups. With the lead in the mid-20s, Clarkson again emptied its bench, allowing several players to produce career-highs. Ashley Hill made six of her eight shots in the game for a career and game-high of 14 points, while Tricia Loso buried a pair of 3-pointers late to score 12. Stephanie Grobe also had 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting, adding in five steals and four assists. Devin Sorell scored 11 points with four steals and Katie Gotch also nearly reached double figures with eight points and six rebounds. The Raptors were led by Caleigh DeCaprio, who produced 11 points in 40 minutes, and Alexis Akingbade's 10 points and eight rebounds.
