POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team (6-1-1) never let Elmira College (0-5) into the game as they blanked the Soaring Eagles 4-0 on Saturday afternoon. Potsdam received goals from senior forward Amber Hyatt (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt), junior midfielder Brooke Falsion (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport), senior captain Jaci Morr (Monroe, Mich./Monroe) and freshman midfielder Lexi Dean (Schenectady, N.Y./Mohonasen). Sophomore goalie Delphine Léonard (Montreal, Quebec/Dawson College Prep) stopped three shots to pick up her third win.

The Bears controlled the play from the outset. Elmira senior goalie Rachel Grampp (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) was tested twice in the first 98 seconds, but her defense was unable to slow down Potsdam. The pressure resulted in three corner kicks in the opening six minutes. On the third, Hyatt headed strike from junior midfielder Rylie Murray (Berkley, Mich./Berkley) into the net for a 1-0 lead. Elmira's best chance of the half came at the 13:53 mark off the foot of senior forward Kerri Clark (Wading River, N.Y./SUNY Cortland), but Léonard robbed her in close. At 22:38, Murray rang the post and the chances kept coming. In a 24-second flurry, Morr was stifled by Grampp after a great attempt, followed by a chance from Falsion. At 32:38, junior forward Olivia Seamans (Bolton Landing, N.Y./Bolton) picked up the rebound and gave it back to Falsion, who snuck it past a diving Grampp. Grampp was tested four more times before the break. Murray hit both posts with a shot in the last five seconds, but the score remained 2-0 at the half.

The Bears didn't take their feet off the gas in the second half, but five Grampp saves in the first 17 minutes kept it close. Potsdam finally added a third goal at 72:48 as Falsion played the ball through the defense to Morr who rifled it into the upper left corner to make it 3-0. Freshman midfielder Dean made added on fourth goal on a great individual effort at the right side of the net at 86:53.

Léonard exited after a perfect 75:36 minutes. Sophomore Karlee Burdick (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) made one save in the last 14:24. Grampp was the bright spot for Elmira, finishing with 18 saves on the afternoon.

The Bears outshot the Soaring Eagles 36-8 and had seven corners to Elmira's three. Potsdam has won two straight against Elmira.

With her three-point day, Falsion moves past Heather Johnson '13 for fourth place on the all-time scoring list with 57 points (25g, 7a). She also passed Johnson to claim second on the goals scored list. Murray grabs sole possession of 14th place with 32 points (8g, 16a) and is just one assist behind Lacey Malbeuf '09 for the all-time assists lead. Morr passes her assistant coach Kaylen Van Wagner '17 for 18th place on the scoring list with 28 points (14g).

The Bears travel to Troy at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night for a showdown with the Sage Colleges. They then head home to open SUNYAC play against Plattsburgh State at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
