Five Roos set men's season PR’s at Cross Country Only Championships

Geneva, NY – Five members of the SUNY Canton men's cross country team set season personal bests on Saturday at the Cross Country Only Championships in Geneva.

Brandon McCreery (Carthage, NY), Matt Fortin (Liberty, NY), Brent Archer (Edwards, NY), Ryan Teal (Port Leyden, NY) and Isaiah Gowen (Lake George, NY) all ran their fastest 8-kilometer times of the season on Saturday.

McCreery led the way finishing in 34th place out of the 125 runner field with a time of 30:10. Fortin was the second Roo across the line covering the 8K course in 31:11, which beat his previous best time by 47 seconds.

Archer competing in just his second race for the Roos was the fifth SUNY Canton runner across the line in 32:34 (77th). Teal and Gowen were the sixth and seventh runners for SUNY Canton with PR's of 32:53 and 35:56.

Luke Ducharme and Shawn Deibel (Albion, NY) were the No. 3 and 4 runners for the Roos in times of 31:48 (66th) and 32:07 (72nd), respectively.

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS TEAM RESULTS

The men finished 10th out of the 13 team field with 242 points. Clarkson University took home the team title with 22 points.

The cross country teams are back in action Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Paul Smith's College Invitational in Lake Placid.
