POTSDAM, N.Y.—Sophomore forward Eduardo Figueroa scored both goals for the SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (3-8-4, 1-3-4 SUNYAC) as the Bears fought to a 2-2 draw with first place Brockport (8-6-1, 6-1-1). Figueroa's four-point day pushes him past Chris Herdic '87 for the programs' all-time scoring record with 39 points (16g-7a-39pts). The forward also broke his tie with Herdic at the top of Potsdam's goal scored list.

Figueroa put the Bears out in front at 13:10 with an unassisted marker as he ripped a hard knuckleball over Golden Eagle freshman goalie Casey Sullivan. The teams exchanged chances over the rest of the period until Brockport knotted the score with just 35 seconds left in the half. At 44:25, senior forward Mark Orlando found freshman forward Peter DiLorenzo and the game was 1-1 at the break.

Senior goalkeeper Joseph Glackin helped Potsdam withstand an early Golden Eagle charge in the second half with several big saves. Glackin's play gave the Bears the opportunity to regain the lead. At 70:04, Figueroa launched a direct kick from 30 yards out past Sullivan for a 2-1 Potsdam advantage. However, the Bears couldn't shake Brockport. With just 2:22 remaining, junior forward Chris O'Gorman set up junior midfielder Kevin Nichols for the equalizer.

In overtime, Glackin made two more saves to preserve the tie.

Glackin finished with 14 saves, while Sullivan stopped six shots. The Golden Eagles outshot the Bears 28-18.

Potsdam finishes its conference schedule tomorrow afternoon as the Bears host Geneseo at 1 p.m. as they look to grab a final playoff spot.
