On a rain soaked field, FC Freeze (8-0) continued its unbeaten streak with a 5-3 win over Upstate United SC Storm (2-4) Saturday.

Freeze had a shaky start, when Storm scored 18 seconds into the game.

A 30 minute rain delay ensued, allowing Freeze time to regroup.

At 20:15 Jenni Haycook (Canton) passed to Olivia Mace (Canton). Mace tied the game when she took a 25 yard chip shot which looped in behind the goalie. At halftime the score was tied 1-1.

At 7:15, in the second half, Gabi Jones (Potsdam) scored when she dribbled by four defenders and fired a ball near the left post. Just over 5 minutes later, Jones scored again by dribbling inside the 18 and blasting a shot by the right far post.

At 15:24, Haycook received the ball at midfield and sprinted past defenders inside the 18. She rocketed a low ball by the left post for the fourth Freeze goal.

Storm scored their second goal off a corner kick. At 27:55, Katie Cowen (Potsdam) scored with a direct kick from 20 yards out with a top shelf shot over the keeper's outstretched hands.

With less than three minutes remaining in the game, Storm scored their third and final goal.

FC Freeze outshot Storm 8-7 as keeper Shaq Jackson (Gouverneur) made 4 saves.
