WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS.—Williams College (14-1) rallied from an early deficit to down the SUNY Potsdam volleyball team (6-13) 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Bears jumped out to an early lead in the first set before succumbing to the Ephs 25-19. Williams then took the final two games by 25-17 and 25-14 scores. Junior outside hitter Chelsea Sunday (Akwesasne, N.Y./Salmon River) paced Potsdam's offense with six kills to go with five digs. Graduate student outside hitter Annie Smith (Chateauguay, N.Y./Chateauguay) contributed five kills and five digs, while freshman outside hitter Kelsey Tompkins (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) finished with four kills and three block assists. Senior libero Gabby Arana (Williston Park, N.Y./Herricks) totaled nine digs and freshman setter Rachel Topf (Eagle River, Alaska/Chugiak) had another solid afternoon with 16 assists and three aces.
The Bears are back home for the first time in a month on Tuesday evening, when they host St. Lawrence University at 7 p.m.
