St. Lawrence senior forward Vanessa Emond scored a goal and added two assists in Friday night's game against Colgate, becoming the 18th player in University history to record 100 career points in a 6-0 victory over the Raiders in Hamilton, NY.

The nationally-ranked No. 10 Saints, now 14-5-2 in ECAC Hockey and 20-8-4 overall, control their own destiny for the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament. However, the Scarlet and Brown will likely need to knock off the nationally-ranked No. 3 team in the country, the Cornell Big Red, at Lynah Rink tomorrow afternoon. Meanwhile, Colgate falls to 10-20-2 (5-14-2) and is eliminated from playoff contention with the loss.

"We played well, and were opportunistic tonight with balanced scoring," said St. Lawrence head coach Chris Wells. "Our penalty kill did a great job all night getting in lanes. We are all looking forward to our game tomorrow in Ithaca."

St. Lawrence took the lead a mere 1:00 minute into the first period on Friday, as Alley Bero scored her third goal of the season with assists from sophomore Dayle Wilkinson and Emond. Colgate goaltender Kimberly Sass would do her part to keep the Raiders in the game thanks to a 12-save period to keep it 1-0 after one.

The Saints would take control of the game in the second period with three goals in a span of 8:56. First-year student Ellie Williams' centering pass from behind the net banked off a Colgate skate and past Sass for a 2-0 lead at 8:29. Sophomore Rylee Smith then got into the scoring with an extra attacker goal at 13:19, one-timing an excellent pass from junior Kelly Sabatine past Sass.

First-year student Amanda Boulier would cap the second period scoring with the Scarlet and Brown on top 4-0 with a goal at 17:25, as her shot also deflected off a Colgate player and beat the netminder for her fourth goal of the year.

Emond, who also assisted on Boulier's goal, would reach the 100-point milestone only 40 seconds into the third period, as she scored her 10th goal of the year. Bero and Boulier assisted on the goal that pushed the lead to 5-0. Senior captain Karell Emard, who reached the 100-point mark last Friday night against Quinnipiac, capped the game's scoring at 8:25, with assists going to both Smith and Sabatine.

A total of six Saints had multi-point games in the win over the Raiders, while first-year goaltender Carmen MacDonald made 17 stops to pick up her second consecutive shutout. Meanwhile, Sass made 30 saves in the loss. St. Lawrence finished 1-of-5 on the power play while keeping Colgate without a power play tally (0-for-4).

The Saints, now winners of six in a row, will take on Cornell tomorrow, Saturday, February 18 at 4:00pm in the 2011-12 regular season finale.
