Eleven players score as Roos women’s lacrosse rolls to win vs. Express

Canton, NY – Eleven different Roos found the back of the net as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team rolled to a 21-2 victory against visiting Wells College on Saturday afternoon.

Three different players scored their first goals in a Roos uniform during the win as Kailey Mitchell (Fort Drum, NY), Sydney Kinder (New York, NY) and Paige Hart (Oswego, NY) all found the back of the net.

Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, ON) and Tressa Goolden (Canton, NY) paced the offense with three goals and two helpers each, while Caitlin LaVoie (Fulton, NY) and Katelynn Nutter (Carthage, NY) tallied three goals apiece. LaVoie also added an assist and Keri Christensen scored twice and set up two goals. Poupore added a goal and assist, while Christiansen rounded out the Roo scoring.

SUNY Canton (8-3) scored the first 10 goals of the game opening up a 13-2 lead at intermission. The Roos continued to control play in the second stanza rotating all of their players throughout the contest. Lindsay Achzet and Andrea Gould scored the goals for the Express (2-5).

Amanda Woods (Williamsville, NY) paced the Roos with four draw controls, while Shianne Stokes posted a game-high eight draws for Wells. Kelsey Murray (Central Square, NY) recorded a game-best three caused turnovers and 12 different players finished with at least one ground ball for SUNY Canton.

Becca Kieffer (Lee Center, NY) had an impressive game in net stopping 11 shots, while yielding just two scores. Quinn Doubet turned aside six shots for Wells.

The women's lacrosse team has a quick turnaround as it will play its fourth game in six days when it travels to take on Elmira College on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
