The St. Lawrence women's swimming and diving team had eight top-10 finishes through the final two sessions of the Liberty League Championship meet at RPI en route to a sixth place team finish with 662.5 total points.
First-year Taylor McClung posted the top performance of the day for the Saints in the 150 freestyle, placing 2nd with a time of 17:59.93 leading classmate Alexandra Wagner (6th, 18:22.71) and junior Gabriella Marchetti (7th, 18:29.55).
In the 100 freestyle, senior Alanna Blackburn led a group of five scoring swimmers for St. Lawrence with a time of 54.19 to come in fifth. Becca Raab was also top-10, finishing ninth with a time of 55.17, while Maddy Hauben, Nicole Leinders and Heather Foley all placed in the top-25 in the event.
St. Lawrence also had a number of swimmers place in the top-20 in the 200 free, combining for 49 team points. Hauben led six Saints in the event, finishing 13th with a time of 2:00 63. She was followed by Leinders (15th, 2:01.36), McClung (17th, 2:01.58), Wagner (18th, 2:02.99), Kathryn Whittum (20th, 2:03.78) and Claire Anderson (23rd, 2:04.02).
Other top-10 finishers for the Saints included Marchetti in the 400 IM (8th, 4:52.21) and Foley in the 100 fly (8th, 59.97).
The Liberty League Championship was the final event of the semester for the Saints, who will open their spring schedule with a dual meet against SUNY Potsdam on Jan. 16, 2016 in the Augsbury Pool.
