Sophomore diver Matthew Edkins hit another NCAA qualifying mark with a win in the one-meter diving event on the second day of the Liberty League Championships in Rochester, N.Y. The St. Lawrence men's swimming and diving team finished eighth with 344 points.

Edkins successfully defended his one-meter title from last season and won the event with 454.85 points, edging Union's Matt Mintz (432.00) who had won the three-meter event on day one. Both divers hit qualifying marks in both events. Fellow St. Lawrence diver Alex Blake was seventh on the one-meter board (382.30).

In the swimming events, fellow sophomore Robert Burke paced the Saints with three top-20 performances on Saturday. He was 11th in the 400-yard individual medley (4:31.64), 18th in the 200 fly (2:11.16) and 20th in the 1650 freestyle (18:06.70).

First-year Isaac Brinkman also earned a top-20 finish on Saturday, placing 19th in the 200 free in 1:52.08.

St. Lawrence started day two taking eighth in the 200-yard medley relay, as Robert Burke, Calin Arnold, Henry McCormick and Isaac Brinkman combined for a time of 1:45.75 to help the Saints to 44 points. They finished with a pair of teams earning 12th and 16th in the 400 freestyle relay.
