The St. Lawrence University alpine ski teams competed in the giant slalom on Saturday at the 2012 Williams Carnival at Jiminy Peak. Junior Ashley-Kate Durham and sophomore Caroline Barry earned top-10 finishes, leading the Saints women's team to fourth place overall.

Durham had the eighth-fastest first run time en route to sixth place overall, her second impressive finish of the weekend. The Timmins, ON native, who raced in 1:50.69, was followed by Barry in ninth place. Barry propelled up the leaderboard with the fourth-fastest second run time.

First-year student Allison Visconti would cap St. Lawrence's scoring at 84.0 points in 29th place, finishing ahead of Dartmouth College for fourth.

Rookie Maria Hillenbrand (39th), senior Mackenzie Irwin (45th) and first-year student Hannah Kadah (DNQ) also competed in the women's GS for the Saints.

On the men's side, sophomore Dustin Martin was the top St. Lawrence finisher in 21st place overall in 1:48.19 behind a pair of top-15 runs.

Joining Martin in the scoring was classmate Ben DeFlavio in 25th position and rookie Loudon Fruth in 36th. The trio combined for 56.0 points to take seventh place in the team standings.

Senior Jeremy Lawless and rookie Graham Scott finished in 38th and 39th place, respectively, while sophomore Nick Scalia (DNF 2nd) also competed for the Saints.

The University of New Hampshire won the women's GS, while Middlebury College took the men's team title. Rebecca Nadler of Harvard and Andrew McNealus of Middlebury were the individual winners.

Both St. Lawrence alpine teams will compete at the 2012 EISA Championships next weekend in Middlebury, VT.
