Driscoll, Kellogg lead Saints' Cross Country to ninth at Williams

Caroline Driscoll and Megan Kellogg were 20th and 21st, respectively, to lead the 17th-ranked St. Lawrence University women's cross country team to a ninth-place finish at the highly-competitive Williams College Purple Valley Invitational on Saturday.

Driscoll finished the six-kilometer course in 23 minutes, 12.4 seconds, an average of 6:14 per mile, with Kellogg 3.4 seconds behind.

St. Lawrence managed to finish ninth with 281 points despite Leah Livernois, who won the team's first race this season, being out for the race. Seven of the teams that finished ahead of the Saints are nationally ranked, including four teams that are in the top-10; the eighth team was McGill, which finished second, and as a Canadian university, is not eligible to be ranked in the USTFCCCA poll.

Quote from Head Coach Kate Curran

"We had a solid effort against a national class field. It was a great chance to get our first 6K under our belts, and we're looking forward to next week's Paul Short Run."
