Matthew Edkins and Alex Blake combined to sweep the diving events, but the St. Lawrence men's swimming and diving team fell 182-103 to RIT on Saturday afternoon.
Edkins won in the 3-meter event and Blake won in the 1-meter, while Robert Burke, Isaac Brinkman and Henry McCormick also picked up individual wins against the Tigers. The diving tandem accounted for nearly a quarter of the Saints' points in the meet.
Edkins posted a store of 262.35 in the 3-meter and Blake was third with 214.70 points. In the 1-meter, Blake edged his teammate by .4 points with 240.35 points to Edkins' 239.95 to win.
Meanwhile, Burke opened the meet with a time of 10:49.45 in the 1000-yard freestyle, winning by an 11-second margin to help the Saints to nine points. He also finished third in the 200-yard butterly and fourth in the 200 backstroke to contribute to the team total.
Brinkman continued his early success in his rookie season, winning the 500-yard freestyle by a three second margin in 5:09.55. McCormick rounded out the day for the Saints in the 200 IM, leading Phillip Scott to the wall in 2:12.50 to Scott's 2:18.11.
The Saints 200-freestyle relay team of Austin Clark, Burke, Christopher Fleming and Douglas Connell combined for a time of 1:39.10 in the final event of the day.
