St. Lawrence University's Parker Dennis is the medalist in the first half of the 2015-16 Liberty League Men's Golf Championship played at the Potsdam Country Club on Saturday and Sunday.

Dennis shot a two-under 70 on Sunday, the only player to break par in the 36-hole first round of the tournament and has a 147 total after the first two rounds. His round helped the Saints to one of the top team rounds on Sunday at 301 and moved them into third overall at 610 after 36 holes.

The 2015-16 season marks the start of a new format for the Liberty League tournament as all seven teams will play in a 72-hole stroke play tournament which is split between the fall and spring seasons. All scores from this weekend's event at Potsdam will be carried over to the spring event which will be a 36-hole tournament at the Timber Banks Golf Club in Baldwinsville, NY on April 23-24. The winning team will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

The Saints, fourth after day one, trail Rochester, which led Sunday's round with a 598 team score and has a two day total of 598 and Skidmore, which has a 603 two-round total. SLU's 610 is five strokes better than RPI and Clarkson which are tied for fourth at 615.

Dennis shot 77 on Saturday in the opening round and then shot the only sub-par round of the tournament for his collegiate low round of 70, matching his best 36-hole total with 147.

Sophomore Ryan Flynn was the other Saint to crack the top ten through the first 36 holes as he shot 74 on Sunday after a 77 on Saturday and has a 151 total, tied for ninth. Freshman John Lauria is tied for 18th with rounds of 80 and 75 for a 155 total while Jake Danforth is tied for 24th with rounds of 77 and 82 for a 159. Colin Dowd was the fourth Saint scorer on Saturday with an opening 78 and shot 84 on Sunday for a 162 total.
