Four players recorded multi-hit games and three picked up two RBI each for the St. Lawrence baseball team on Friday, but the Saints struggles continued at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Florida, as they fell to Denison 15-12.

Taylor Digilio, Isaac Lewis, James Cronin and Beau Yaremko led the Saints with two hits apiece, while Brendon Frank, Anthony Butler and Cronin each drove in two runs. Yaremko, who started the game at second base but also pitched the final two innings, score a team-high three runs on Friday.

Denison outhit the Saints 14-13 in the win, but also led in errors as the Big Red finished with 10 defensive miscues to the Saints' five. St. Lawrence stranded 15 runners on the day and left the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth.

St. Lawrence opened up a 3-0 lead through the first two innings and had a 6-1 lead heading into the top of the sixth, which is when the Big Red took their first lead of the day thanks to an eight-run frame.

Denison scored eight runs on six hits, including three for extra bases, with the help of three errors to take a 9-6 lead over the Saints and chase starter Alex Black out of the game. Black allowed four runs on five hits in five and a third with three strikeouts on Friday.

After the Saints were retired in order in the bottom of the sixth, Denison added three more in the top of the seventh to extend the led to 12-6.

St. Lawrence put together a big inning of its own, though, scoring six runs on four hits and two Denison errors in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 12-12.

Cronin led things off with a walk and single to right by Yaremko put runners on the corners with Tyler Guido at the plate. Guido hit a sac fly to left that brought Cronin in to score and Digilio followed with a single down the right field line to put runners on the corners once again.

With two outs in the inning, Frank reached on an error by the Big Red third baseman, which allowed Yaremko to score and cut the deficit to four runs at 12-8. In the next at bat, Butler hit an RBI single to center and then Evan O'Keeffe reached on another Denison error to load the bases. Reichel was then hit by a pitch to plate the Saints' 10th run. Cronin tied the game with a two RBI single for the final runs of the inning.

The tie was short-lived; however, as Denison scored three in the top of the eighth inning en route to the 15-12 win.

Yaremko, who pitched the final two innings for the Saints, took the loss; his first of the year (0-1). He gave up three runs on three hits with two strikeouts. Cody Mauri was the pitcher of record for Denison, despite only throwing a third of an inning and allowing three runs on two hits.

With the loss, the Saints fall to 1-6 on the year with one game remaining at the Gene Cusic Classic. Denison improved to 8-5 with the win.
