CORTLAND, N.Y.-- Freshman guard Danny Delsol-Lowry (Queens, N.Y./Queens High School of Teaching) recorded a career-high 18 points and five assists, in the SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team's (2-19, 1-14 SUNYAC) 84-64 loss to SUNY Cortland (15-6, 10-4 SUNYAC) on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore guard Nosa Onabor (Brooklyn, N.Y./Northside Charter) came off the bench and scored 15 points, while sophomore forward Serigne Kane (Brooklyn, N.Y./Brooklyn Prep) had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Two minutes into the game, Zach Lydon hit a three to start a Red Dragons 22-3 run. During the run Justin Cooper had seven points and Isaiah Cotton had five. The Bears brought it back within 11 after a series of three's by sophomore guard Tanner Stone (Schroon Lake, N.Y./Schroon Lake), freshman guard Aaron Armstrong (Lisbon, N.Y./Madrid-Waddington), Delsol-Lowry, and Kane. With 5:05 left Kane made a free throw to cut the deficit to 10, but that did not stop Cortland as they responded with a 13-2 run. Delsol-Lowry made a pair of free throws, making the score 46-27 entering halftime.

The Red Dragons picked up where they left off, starting the second half on a 15-2 stretch. Bears junior guard Kevin Baksh (Queens, N.Y./Richmond Hill) halted the run with a three at 13:07. Half way through the final 20 minutes, Potsdam made an 18-6 push which included six points from Onabor and four from Delsol-Lowry. However, Cortland held off the Bears rest of the way to close out the 84-64 victory.

The Red Dragons had five players score double digits. Michael Kelly led his team with 15 points, Cooper had 14 points and both Nicky Bonura and Zach Lydon scored 13. Rounding it off was Cotton, coming off the bench with 10.

Cortland shot 51 percent, while Potsdam shot 40 percent. The Bears shot over 84 percent from the charity stripe (11-13) and had a slight edge in rebounds (34-33).

Potsdam is back in action on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. as the Bears head down Route 11 to face the SUNY Canton Kangaroos.
