Castleton, VT – The SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team won its second straight contest in decisive fashion with a 17-2 victory over Green Mountain College on Wednesday afternoon at Spartan Stadium.

The Roos (4-4) pushed the offensive tempo throughout the game, netting their first goal less than two minutes into the game off of a Joelle Percy (Black River, NY) shot. SUNY Canton scored the first five goals of the contest as Keeley Rice (Potsdam, NY) had two goals and an assist and Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, ON) scored once and set up a goal during the spurt.

The Eagles (0-3) responded with two goals, one each from Megan Scully and Corinne Colpitts, to trim the deficit to 5-2 midway through the opening half. The Roos retorted with six straight goals before halftime as seven different players found the back of the net in the opening half.

The SUNY Canton defense did not allow a single goal the final 45:02 of clock time as the team added six second half goals to close out the game, 17-2. Tressa Goolden (Canton, NY) led the Roos offensively with five goals, while Rice was equally effective scoring and passing with three goals and three assists. Carroll finished with three goals and two assists, while Percy posted two goals and three assists.
