Cymerman wins 3000, Saints 3rd at ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships

St. Lawrence University senior Amy Cymerman won the 3000 meters at the 2014 ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track Center in Boston on Saturday, highlighting a solid showing for the Saint women's team in the meet.

Cymerman ran 9:55.67 for the event win and Lisa Grohn finished third in 10:09.76 to account for 16 of SLU's 36 points in the meet with 62 teams scoring. The Saints were third as a team trailing Amherst which won with 38 points and MIT, which was second with 36.5.

The other scoring finishes for the Saints on Saturday came from Carly Stine and the 4x800 relay. Stine was third in the 500 meters in 1:17.73, just fractions of a second off her own SLU record. The Saint 4x800 team of Toria Koutras, Kristen Jovanelly, Anna Rabideau and Cassia Hameline ran 9:50.14 to finish fifth.

The Saint 4x400 relay team of Marisa Turner, Hannah Kinsey, Ketura Mason and Stine finished 10th in 3:58.57. Kinsey was ninth with a 25.87 clocking in the 200 with Mason finishing 27th in 26.35. Cassia Hameline was 20th in the 800 in 2:21.13 while Molly Lennon ran 1:22.51 in the 500 and Kelsey Leder 10:48.28 in the 3000.

In field event competition Saturday, Turner was 10th in the high jump with a 1.59 meter mark while Kylie Morris was 20th at 1.54 meters. Divya Biswal followed up Friday's second place finish in the triple jump with a 11th place in the long jump at 5.08 meters and Kristen Linder finished 16th in the weight throw at 14.39 meters.
