St. Lawrence University's women's cross country team had a streak of individual championships snapped at the New York State Collegiate Track and Field Conference Cross Country Championships at Center Park in Fairport on Saturday, but ran its team streak to five straight titles with a lopsided victory.

The Saints placed all five scorers in the top seven finishers and ran away from the 12 team field, beating runner-up Ithaca by 65 points for the team title. The Saints finished with 23 points with Ithaca second with 88 followed by RPI with 92 and Rochester with 93 in the top four.The 23 points scored by the Saints tied the all-time low score record in meet history.

Junior Amy Cymerman was the top Saint finisher, second overall in 22:33.94. Lauren Norton of the University of Rochester snapped the Saint streak of four straight individual champions with a win in 22:18.01.

Cymerman was joined in the top seven by Ella Martin, who was third in 22:45.93, Margaret MacDonald, fifth in 23:10.58, Ariel Beccia, who was sixth in 23:15.06 and Caroline Raue, who finished seventh in 23:16.11. Only 42 seconds separated the Saint fifth finisher from first in an impressive display of depth.

Martin was named the NYSCTC Rookie of the Year and Mike Howard and his staff was named the Coaching Staff of the Year. The Saints are ranked seventh in the most recent national polls.

Jackie Lemme finished 10th in 23:37.13 and Lizzie Edwards was 11th in 23:38.95 to complete the Saint top seven.

Other finishers for SLU included Anne Martino, 17th in 23:52.02, Anna Rabideau, 27th in 24:16.30, Kelsey Leder, who was 45th in 24:58.38 and Toria Koutras, 49th in the 141 runner field in 25:07.08. Andrea Maynard finished 91st, Jenny VanOoyen 92nd and Katie Mannix was 116th.

The Saints will pursue another title Oct. 27 when they run in the Liberty League Championships at Clarkson.
