For the second straight day the eighth-ranked Clarkson University Women's Hockey team earned a dominating five goal victory. This time the win came at the expense of Dartmouth who falls by the score of 6-1.

Clarkson improves to 6-3-1 overall and a perfect 2-0-0 in ECAC Hockey while Dartmouth drops to 0-4-0 overall and 0-3-0 in conference.

"At the beginning of the game tonight I thought we were trying to force things a little too much," stated Head Coach Matt Desrosiers. "Once we started to make the simple plays we began moving the puck a lot better which created some chances and goals for us. Overall we are pretty happy with our play from the weekend and the improvements we have been seeing in each game. Points are so tough to get within our league so being able to get four this weekend to open up league play is a great start."

Clarkson jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period. Rhyen McGill opened the scoring at 12:49 into the frame off a pass from assistant captain Genevieve Bannon. The Golden Knights doubled their lead at 18:31 when Bannon got a goal of her own during a Clarkson power-play. Josiane Pozzebon and co-captain Savannah Harmon got the assists.

Clarkson moved even further ahead at 5:20 in the second period when Brielle Bellerive scored. Emma Keenan and Corie Jacobson notched assists on the goal.

Clarkson's momentum was temporarily halted at 13:20 when the Big Green got on the scoreboard through Christina Rombaut. Alyssa Baker and Kennedy Ottenbreit set up Rombaut's goal.

However, Dartmouth's goal proved to be just a bump in the road to victory for Clarkson as the Green and Gold not only maintained their lead, but extended it with three goals in the final period. Ella

Shelton scored her first collegiate goal at 6:22 when she unleashed a shot from the right circle that found the net. Harmon and Bannon added the assists there. Kelly Mariani got onto the scoresheet at 9:26 off a pass from McGill. Finally, Loren Gabel became the sixth Golden Knight with a goal when her shot from the right side scored with just a second on the clock. Overall, Clarkson had 12 players with a point, with Bannon picking up four.

Clarkson held a 34-19 advantage in shots. Clarkson was two of four on the power-play and killed all five Dartmouth extra man opportunities. Shea Tiley had 18 saves for Clarkson while Christie Honor made 28 stops for Dartmouth.

Clarkson's next game will be on the road when the Green and Gold travel to Quinnipiac and Princeton on November 4th and 5th respectively.
