A goal in either half lifted the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team to a 2-0 win over visiting Bard 2-0 on Saturday afternoon on Hantz Turf Field.

Clarkson is now 5-3-2 on the season with a 1-1-1 Liberty League record while Bard falls to 4-3-3 overall and 0-3-0 in conference.

For the second straight game, the Golden Knights scored within the first five minutes of the game. At 1:57, Kevin Calnan played a through ball with his back heel to Aiden Subra who was racing into the Bard box. Subra took a touch and then placed his shot into the far post for his second goal of the season.

After taking the 1-0 lead into halftime, Clarkson got an insurance goal at 64:44. A Clarkson cross was sent into the Bard box where Subra was waiting on the far post. Rather than try for the goal himself, Subra headed the ball back across the box where Drew Lewis was open for a simple tap in goal. Clarkson then held off Bard for the final 25 minutes to complete its sixth shutout of the season.

Clarkson finished with a 13-8 edge in shots and took nine corner kicks to Bard's four. Michael King made three saves for Clarkson while his Bard counterpart Taylor Bond made two.

Clarkson will next head to Hobart College for a matchup on October 8th.
