Annandale-on-Hudson, NY - A late 10-2 run gave the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team its first lead of the game, and the Golden Knights held off Bard College 62-59 in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights evened their conference record at 5-5 and moved to 8-11 overall, while Bard suffered its eighth straight league loss to fall to 6-14 overall and 3-8 in the Liberty League.

Neither team shot particularly well in the first half and Clarkson trailed throughout, save for the four times that the game was tied midway through the first 20 minutes. Thanks to a plus-nine rebounding margin, Bard was able to go into the break with a five-point advantage. In the second half, Bard edged out to as many as nine in the first few minutes, but the Knights chipped away until the two teams were knotted up once again at 49-49 with 4:48 to go. The teams were tied for a sixth time at 50-50, but a Derek Hart layup put the Knights up 52-50 with three minutes to go. Clarkson scored on its next two possessions to extend the lead to six points, but the key shot came in the final minute. The Knights held a four-point lead, but Conrad Zampier hit a huge 3-pointer with the shot clock winding down to give Clarkson a 59-52 advantage with 35 seconds to go. Zampier hit two free throws in the waning seconds and that was enough to keep the Raptors at bay.

Zampier finished with 17 points, going 5-for-8 from the field with three 3-pointers, and Felix Abongo tossed in 17 points on 5-for-9 shooting and also added in three blocks. Hart also chipped in 16 points to go along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Clarkson shot 56.3% in the second half after shooting just 32.1% in the first half.

Bard was led by Emmanuel Rainey, who scored 24 points on 10-for-20 shooting. Brandon Cunningham also scored 10 points by making five of his 10 attempts from the floor. The Raptors struggled from beyond the 3-point arc, going just 2-for-15.
