Cara Waterson scored 17 points and Caroline Dalton added 11 points but the St. Lawrence University Women's Basketball team shot just 25 percent from the floor in the second half and dropped a 76-60 decision to Vassar College Saturday in Poughkeepsie.
The Saints (13-5 overall, 6-3 Liberty League) connected on half their shorts in the first half and took a 39-34 lead into the halftime intermission. St. Lawrence scored 22 points in the second quarter alone but managed just 21 points in the second half when the team made just seven of 27 shots from the field in the final 20 minutes of the contest.
In the first half, the Saints hit 16-of-32 shots including 6-for-10 from 3-point range as Waterson led the team with 11 points.
In the second half, St. Lawrence was 0-for-10 from 3-point range and made just 7-of-27 shots from the field.
Waterson and Dalton led the team with their combined 28 points while Ellie Gonyeau added none points and Shayna Davner chipped in eight points. Dalton grabbed a team-leading 10 rebounds.
The Saints return home Tuesday for a 6 pm game against Skidmore.
