Poughkeepsie, NY – Tallying 59 of the team's 76 points, the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team's senior class consisting of Derek Hart, Drew Zlogar and Michael Hayduk put together one of its best efforts of the season to lead the Golden Knights to a 76-60 Liberty League victory over Vassar College on Friday night.

The Golden Knights saw their record improve to 7-7 overall and 2-3 in the Liberty League, while the Brewers fell to 5-9 overall and 1-5 in conference games.

Derek Hart scored on his first shot of the game in the opening minutes, starting a 10-1 run in the first 2:44 for the Golden Knights as Clarkson would lead throughout the contest. The senior forward was virtually unstoppable in the opening half for the Knights, shooting 7-for-8 from the floor. That proved important for Clarkson, as any time Vassar made a run, Hart was on the other end to halt the Brewers' progress. Vassar pulled to within one on two occasions and was down by just two points with a little less than four minutes to go, but the Knights went on a 10-3 run to extend their advantage to nine points. That was the margin at the half, as sophomore transfer Chibuzor Ogbue ended the first with a dunk as time expired.

Hart scored 18 points in the half, missing just a single shot as Clarkson shot 50.0% from the floor (15-for-30). Alex Seff and Mickey Adams each tossed in nine points for Vassar, with Adams shooting 4-for-5 from the field.

Vassar trimmed the margin to six points on two occasions in the early going of the second half, but the Knights went on a 7-0 run, capped by a Michael Hayduk 3-pointer. Mason Dyslin kept Vassar in the game over the next couple of possessions, but back-to-back 3-pointers from Hayduk and Liam Ellis extended the Clarkson advantage to 15 points near the midway point of the half. Following a 3-pointer from Vassar, Clarkson scored nine unanswered points to push the lead to 21 with 7:05 remaining (67-46) and the Golden Knights simply cruised from there to pick up the win.

Hart finished with his seventh double-double of the season, recording 26 points on 10-for-14 shooting to go along with 12 rebounds. Senior Drew Zlogar didn't take many shots in the first half, but made the most of his chances going 5-for-6 from the field and 7-for-8 from the line for 18 points. He also added seven boards. Hayduk made four 3-pointers en route to 15 more points, as the trio combined to shoot 19-for-27 from the floor. Clarkson also picked up 19 points off Vassar turnovers.

The Brewers finished with four players in double figures, led by Hunter Gettings 16 points on 4-for-8 shooting with three 3-pointers. Alex Seff added 14 points and six rebounds and Mason Dyslin put together a solid all-around game with 11 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Mickey Adams also finished with 10 points and six boards.
