Clarkson's Petitti and Walsh named Conference All-Stars, Raymond earns Coach of the Year honors

Thanks to standout performances in 2011, seniors Alix Petitti (Amsterdam, NY) and Andrea Walsh (Underhill Center, VT) of the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team were named to the Liberty League All-Star team on Thursday, helping first-year head coach Sarah Raymond and assistant coach Rachael Sushner gain Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

Despite an impressive career at Skidmore, Raymond gained her first-ever Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year award, leading the Golden Knights to their first winning season since 1992 with a mark of 8-7-1 overall. Clarkson's defensive efforts were solid all year long, allowing fewer than a goal per game for the first time in the history of the 30-year-old program.

Petitti was named a Liberty League Second-Team All-Star, improving on her Liberty League Honorable Mention All-Star status from the previous two seasons. Petitti finished second on the team in goals with three and scored 17 points in her career total from the midfield.

Walsh was picked as a Liberty League Honorable Mention All-Star in her final season, playing a key role on Clarkson's defense that allowed just 14 goals in 16 games. In her career she scored six points and was the Knights leading scorer as a sophomore when she played both defense and offense.
